VISIT TO IMMA IN KILMAINHAM With four exhibitions to view and an orientation by Catherine Marshall this proved to be an exhilarating afternoon. An exhibition of key works marked the launch of a full colour catalogue of the permanent collection, a survey of provocative work by Dorothy Cross, a mini-retrospective covering five years of American sculptor Catherine Lee and a major exhibition of the White Stag Group who were active in Ireland in the 1940's.

VISIT TO THE DUBLIN CITY GALLERY THE HUGH LANE Barbara Dawson, the Director, wowed us all (a group of fifty!)with a delightful, informative and enthusiastic tour of the gallery, explaining the original development of the old and the new, the Bacon Studio and paintings. She explained her rationale for the current hanging and for CIAS members it was wonderful to see eight of the works donated by the CIAS over the years, including that by Patrick Scott, the first purchase of the Society. A most enjoyable afternoon!
